We are currently looking for nearly 150 volunteers for the Worcester City 10km, and Run Bike Run on September 20th 2015.

From drivers to course marshalls, water station supervisors to parking assistants, whatever your skill, we need you!

There are lots of opportunities available, so why not get involved? Even better, bring a friend or member of the family with you (as long as they’re over the age of 16).

You’ll be provided with a volunteer jacket, lunch and the opportunity to be an integral part of a great team, at a great event.

Capoeira Worcester have launched a new group which holds classescapoeira on Tuesdays 7-8pm and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at a new arts centre in St John’s: Studio B, Everoak Industrial Estate, Bromyard Road, Worcester, WR2 5HP.

What is Capoeira?

Capoeira is a physical discipline involving movement and featuring element from dance and the martial arts. It originated among Brazilian slaves and the combat moves can be used as the basis for a dance-like activity.

Come and learn the movements, they will develop your confidence, fitness and make you feel centred and balanced. Job Vacancy – Session Activity Workers

Could you share your skills in Craft, Cookery, Music, Sport, Dance, or Gardening with young people?

WAY is a local Charity supporting youth providers through a Directory of skilled Activity Workers within Worcester. We are looking to increase our team of Activity Workers with skills in craft, cookery, gardening, dance, sport.

We are open to new ideas and opportunities to offer the young people we serve, so if you have a hobby or specialism that you feel can be shared with young peo-ple in a youth club setting please get in touch.

Hours: Various 90 minute sessions

Pay: £25 per session, plus holiday pay and travel expenses up to £9 per session

Location: Various Youth Venues across Worcester City

You need to be 18 years or over.

Training can be offered in youth work skills, food hygiene, safeguarding and first aid. We also offer training in the delivery of WAY Ahead Short Courses, a new initiative that accredits young people’s learning with an Asdan qualification.

Sessions are usually evenings but some weekend and school holiday work may be available.

All Activity Workers are DBS checked.

During 2015, Worcester Play Council is supporting locally based community groups and organisations in Worcester City with small grants of up to £500 to develop and deliver play sessions for children aged 0-16 years.

A small grant can be made for up to £500 to support high quality and inclusive play, including: activities, resources, play schemes or events.
