Favourite exercise: Open water swimming
Future Aims: After getting the taste for representing my country for the first time this year I want to qualify to represent GB in the World Champs in 2013 which is going to be held in London on the Olympics course. My aim is to also represent GB in the European Champs.
Bio: I have always been active since I was a young child starting out in competitive swimming at the age of 6. I took up triathlon 2.5 years ago, previously taking part in adventure racing and competitive water polo. I decided to try out for the nation’s squad this year after continually placing well in races last year. I was delighted to have qualified to represent Team GB for the first time and in the year of the London Olympics. I headed to New Zealand in October 2012 and represented GB in the ITU Sprint Triathlon World Championship event and the ITU World Aquathlon Championships.  I am now ranked 23rd in the world for aquathlon and 46th in the world for triathlon. It was the ultimate experience racing with over 2,500 of the World’s best International Age Group athletes.

What the grant means to you: The grant and the support by Worcester City Council means a lot to me to help me achieve my goals. The grant helps me with my training facilities and entry in to the World Championships.
