Juliet Wallace-Mason – Triathlete

Name:                                 Juliet Wallace-Mason

Nickname:                        Jules

D.O.B:                                 31/05/1967

Nationality:                      British

Place of Birth:                 Surrey

Sport/Play Position:     Triathlete

Bio:                                      I have just completed my first season as a Triathlete, having trained hard for ten months, and have had considerable success as a novice who was completely new to this sport, completing in local & national triathlons, and competing in two qualification races for the 2017 World Triathlon, Sprint Distance.  I came 5th, behind four already established national GB & world-class athletes. My second qualification race was in Redcar, where I came forth, and qualified outright for the GB team. I finished the season in September 2017, competing in the World Triathlon Competition in Rotterdam wearing the converted GB kit! Since August 2017, I now train, almost daily at the new & amazing Perdiswell Leisure Centre, mainly using the Gym & Swimming Pool.

Greatest Achievement: Competing for Great Britain at the World Triathlon Age Group competition in Rotterdam, September 2017.

How has the Worcester Sporting Grant helped you?:

The Worcester Sporting Grant has helped me greatly by funding a new GB triathlon suit and it has also provided me extra money for me to have the ‘Freedom Leisure’ logo printed onto this suit. I would generally do at least 2 back-to-back training sessions each day, moving across the triathlon disciplines, these Tri-suits are very expensive.

Aims for the Future:     To be selected to represent Great Britain again for the World Sprint Triathlon in Australia 2018 and to be selected to compete for GB in the 2nd World Aquabike competition in Denmark July 2018.

I think it is hugely important for the wider community to see that involvement & participation in sport is actively encouraged and that at whatever age you decide to take part, you can have your achievements acknowledged and supported.
